Steel and Site is an independent structural steel fabricators and steel stockholder based in the heart of the Midlands. They are one of the UK’s main suppliers of RSJ steel beams to the building and construction industry. With over 25 years’ experience in the trade, they design, fabricate, and install all types of steelwork projects.
The Challenge
The real challenge was how to gain those keyword rankings locally and then broaden the net so they ranked nationally. Competing against the ‘big guys’ was going to be a tough ask!

Our Answer
Looking at similar websites and their ranks, we decided that the website needed a tidy up and that many of the technical aspects in the backend were missing or not set up correctly.
Aqueous Digital worked with Steel and Site to make their website perform better and to enable the search engines to properly index the site. We also had a look into what work had been done previously on the site to see if it was all beneficial, and we found a number of bad backlinks to the site that were negatively affecting rankings.
We reworked and adjusted the content on the site, not only for the end-user, but also for the search engines. Most recently we have added a blog functionality attached to the website, so that we can continuously create interesting, up-to-date and relevant content on a biweekly basis to attract new users and increase the overall search engine rankings for the site itself. Working only within ‘white-hat’ methods, we helped create a long-term solution for online presence for Steel and Site.
