AQUEOUS Digital apprentice Hollie Marsh won a prize at the Halton Business Awards, the borough’s annual celebration of exceptional performance.

She prevailed in a category that attracted the most applications, standing out as the ‘Young Person of the Year (for candidates aged 20 and older)’.
The agency’s PR and outreach specialist received her award during a sold-out gala dinner held at Widnes’s DCBL Stadium.
“Hollie is a perfect example of just how much of an asset apprentices can be to a business,” said Jonathan Guy, Aqueous Digital’s managing director.
“She brings fresh insights, and often challenges our approach to ensure we’re always maintaining a high standard of service. She continually goes above and beyond in her role to benefit the business and support her colleagues.”
Hollie joined the team in September 2022 as a digital marketing assistant, and is in the third year of a degree-apprenticeship with Manchester Metropolitan University, studying Digital Marketing.
That means she works full-time with Aqueous to gain on-the-job experience, juggling that commitment with completing assessments for her course that demonstrate her understanding of digital marketing theory.
She was promoted to her current role last Autumn, and is solely responsible for co-ordinating outreach and PR activities for our customers as well as the Aqueous Digital brand.
Her success is what impressed judges seeking to acknowledge young people demonstrating a commitment to improvement and a can-do attitude while making an outstanding contribution in their chosen workplace.
Aqueous had twice the reason to celebrate after taking the ‘Commitment to the Community Award’ in recognition of the agency’s support for local charities and enthusiasm for doing good in the area.
In the past few months, team members have volunteered to assist The Toy Appeal, and raised money for MND Association Cheshire by keeping active during the whole of February.
The 50th edition of the Halton Business Awards was attended by more than 500 guests, including business leaders and their employees, to celebrate entries from all sectors of the economy operating in Runcorn and Widnes.
“It’s always an honour to shine a spotlight on our phenomenal, local businesses,” said Rachael Owen, chief executive of Halton Chamber of Commerce.
“There’s so much to celebrate, and it’s fantastic to witness that it’s all happening here in Halton.”
