Introducing Ethan

Ethan copywriter

..

Meet Ethan, the latest addition to our rapidly expanding team of digital marketing specialists.

Ethan started with Aqueous this week, so we posed a few questions for him to answer, so that you can get to know him a little better:

..

What is your role at Aqueous and what will that involve on a day-to-day basis?

I’m a copywriter, so it’s my job to handle the written content for our various customers and ensure that they get high-quality blogs, articles, and web copy. I also handle any ad hoc writing tasks that need doing. I’m the first in-house copywriter for Aqueous, so the role will probably evolve quite a lot over my first year.

Tell us a bit about yourself?

I live with my wife and daughter in Derbyshire, along with our Scottie/Westie cross, Rupert. I’m usually getting obsessed with something one week only to drop it the next. I bore my wife with trivia she never asked for, and I love a good cosy café. My ultimate goal is to one day become a published author.

What do you do for fun outside of work?

Photography, music, videogames, and reading and writing fiction – I’ve always been quite a homebody at heart so I like being indoors and comfy with my family most of the time when I’m not working. I do like a good nature walk to recharge, though.

Who inspires you and why?

Marcus Aurelius, commonly known to be the last good emperor of Rome. Even though he was arguably the most powerful man in the world, he constantly wrote in his journals to do better, to remember how human and flawed he was, and how his true job in life was to be a good person. If someone like that can hold himself accountable and strive to be better, we all can.

What are you most looking forward to working at Aqueous?

Working with all the different customers and writing around some really varied topics. I love learning new things and I don’t doubt I’m going to learn a lot about a lot in this role. I think working for Aqueous is really going to supercharge my skills and knowledge.

Are there any interesting facts about you that many people might not be aware of?

I lived in a commune in France for about a year. I can play the didgeridoo, albeit not very well. Like some people I have what’s called a photic sneeze reflex, which means sunlight makes me sneeze.
